Brief Overview of New Autism Swim Program
Our Autism Swim 6 WEEK Program is a specialized, inclusive swimming instruction program designed for children and youth on the autism spectrum. Using evidence-based teaching methods, our certified instructors provide one-on-one support in a safe, understanding environment.
The program's primary focus is drowning prevention through vital water safety skills. Participants learn essential safety rules including always waiting for permission before entering water, never swimming alone, and recognizing water hazards. Our adaptive teaching approach helps swimmers build confidence and competence through skills such as floating, climbing along pool sides, safe deck walking, and comfort in deep water.
Prerequisite: None
Sessions: 6-week sessions (Winter)
Practice Times: Saturdays, 30-min classes, 11:30 AM – 12 PM
Ages: 5 –16 years
Cost: $160 per 6-week session (6 classes total)
I am not sure what level I should register my child?
If you are unsure of what level you should register your child, please take a look at the resources below:

Preschool 1 through 3 At-A-Glance (Preschool 4&5 not offered)
If you still have questions regarding placement, please do not hesitate to contact Brenna Maddalena at coachbrennar@gmail.com.
When can I register my child?
Our 2026 Winter registration opens on Saturday, January 3rd. Shark Bait lessons begin on January 13th and Saturday swim lessons will begin January 17th.
Registration closes on January 24, 2026.
Reduced fees are not offered for late registration after session has begun.
My child is registered in the Shark Bait program. Do they have to attend both Tuesday and Thursday lessons?
Ideally yes, lesson plans are designed for swimmers attending two thirty-minute sessions per week.
Are parents allowed on deck during the lesson time?
Yes! Parents may sit in the bleachers. However, please consider:
Staying away from the pool edge to avoid distracting instructors.
Keep pathways clear for lifeguards.
Remember: No outdoor footwear on deck.
For Preschool levels - is a parent/guardian required to get in the water?
For Preschool 1 - We encourage the parent to participate if they feel it's in the best interest of their child's learning experience. Once the swim instructor feels the child no longer needs the support of a parent/guardian in the water, they have permission to ask you to observe from the bleachers during the next lesson.
Preschool 2&3 should not require a parent in the water.
Can a child move groups during swim lessons?
Yes, can be moved during the lesson period to a group that is more accomodating to their skill level. We want to make sure all swimmers are happy and comfortable in the water!
